Royal High School
Sir Walter Scott was one of the pupils at the Royal High School.
The school was founded in 1188 as a school for the Abbots of Holyrood. it has been based at 4 different sites.
Since the sixteenth century, the school has been at four different sites. The engravings below show the first three of these.
The school is now at Barnton in the west of Edinburgh.
