The line from Edinburgh Princes Street Station to Barnton was a branch off  the Caledonian railway's circuitous route from Princes Street Station to Leith. 

The line was opened in 1894.  The line ran from Craigleith via Davidson's Mains to Barnton in the western suburbs of Edinburgh.

The line closed to passengers in 1951.
