Photographic Societies
Each edition of The British Journal of Photography in 1897 included
brief comments on the activities of British Photographic Societies -
often about 10 societies were listed, sometimes including Edinburgh.
In earlier decades, the BJP often reproduced the whole Paper
submitted to EPS Meetings. Such Papers were not produced in
1897. However the brief comments on the Meetings often gave a little
insight into who spoke at the Meetings. Edinburgh's professional
photographers tended to play an important part in these Meetings in 1897.
