Restoration

The photograph above was taken on 8 April 2003 from East Princes Street Gardens, close to the Scott Monument, looking to the south-west towards the National Galleries and Edinburgh Castle behind.

Playfair's two galleries run across the centre of the picture.  They are The National Gallery of Scotland (left) and The Royal Scottish Academy (right), with building work for the Playfair Project between them.

In the background is Edinburgh Castle:
