Photographic Exhibitions

1876 and 1890

Edinburgh Photographic Society has held an annual exhibition each year since its inauguration in 1861.

Two of its exhibitions in the 19th century were on a particularly grand scale, with major works on display for two months, and a full programme of entertainment for each.

They were the Exhibitions of 1876 and 1890.  The venue for each of these was the Royal Scottish Academy.
