The Playfair Project

Restoration

The photograph above was taken on 8 April 2003 from East Princes Street Gardens, with the spring flowers in the foreground.

Playfair's two galleries run across the centre of the picture.  They are The National Gallery of Scotland (left) and The Royal Scottish Academy (right), with building work for the Playfair Project between them.

In the background, barely visible through the trees, is Edinburgh Castle:

The building with small spires at the left hand side of the picture currently houses the Scottish Parliament - until the Parliament moves to its new home at Holyrood, now [April 2003] under construction.
