This view is from the junction of Broughton Street and York place, close to St Paul's church.

The buildings on the right of this scene in Queen Street, and the church in the centre of the picture, are still recognisable, but the remainder of the buildings have gone. 

There in now an open area with sculptures and a large traffic roundabout in front of the church.  The church is now St Mary's Catholic Roman Catholic Cathedral.
