Edinburgh Old Town & The Bank of Scotland

Here is a view looking to the south from what is now the junction of Princes Street and Waverley Bridge.

-  In the background on the skyline is St Giles church.

-  Below is the old town of Edinburgh, with the large Royal Exchange building housing the Council Chambers, prominent on the left.

-  The road on the left is to become the site of Waverley Bridge, when the railway arrives in the 1840s.

-  The dark area (lower right) is East Princes Street Gardens.

-  The light building (upper right) is the Head Office of Bank of Scotland.
