James Good Tunny

Adverts

The earliest advert that I have found for J G Tunny's business is the one below from 1855, advertising a selection of Tunny's portraits and views.

However, Tunny's advert the following year showed that the portraits listed above formed only a tiny proportion of his pictures.

In this quaintly worded advert, he referred to his newly altered studio in Clerk Street, and to about 7,000 of his photos that were on sale though Mr Sinclair, bookseller, 60 George Street

The Extensive Alterations recently made on the

NEWINGTON PHOTOGRPAHIC ROOMS

being now complete, Mr TUNNY can offer those desirous of having their Portraits taken peculiar advantages for their execution.

The GLASS SALOON is on the Ground Floor, and thus readily accessible, even to Invalids.  It admits to being largely thrown upon to the air, so as to secure the beneficial influence of the free reception of light, without the discomfort of exposure in ungenial weather.

COPIES of the following (selected from about Seven Thousand other Portraits, Views and Sketches) can be had at the Rooms or from
