Scope of the Scran Web Site

The Scran web site now (at 2011) has over 360,000 images including many of Edinburgh, from museums, galleries and archives.  With the agreement of Scotsman Publications, I have added some of their photos from the Scran web site to the EdinPhoto web site. 

Dates of the Photos on Scran

Unfortunately, some of the dates for Scotsman Publications photos recorded on the Scran web site are not correct.  The day and month seem to usually be accurate, but I have found errors in the year.

Where I have become aware of these, I've checked the date with Scotsman Publications then corrected the date shown on the EdinPhoto web site.  See below.

There will no doubt be other Scotsman Publications photos on the EdinPhoto web site where the dates still need to be changed.  I'll make the corrections as I become aware of any problems.

Scotsman Publications tell me that most of their photos with suspect dates on Scran ate those with  numbers beginning '9999'.  However, I have found that some of thier photos with other numbers also have suspect dates on Scran.

These are the photos that I have investigated so far where I have found the dates on Scran to be correct.
