Medals

EPS Council had lengthy discussions on the Medals to be awarded. 

Mr Sinclair submitted several drawings of Medals, with estimates of £12:10/- for cutting a die.  It was eventually agreed to award 33 Medals.

The Panel of Judges comprised:

-  Sir Daniel Macnee  RSA

-  Norman MacBeth  ARSA

-  John Lessels,  Architect

-  Thomas Annan,  Photographer, Glasgow

-  Thomas Rodger,  Photographer, St Andrews

SILVER MEDAL to Charles Piazzi Smyth  -  for the plano-concave corrector that he used on his camera for photographing clouds.

SILVER MEDAL to H Fox Talbot  -  for three specimens of photoglyptic engraving.
