Photographer and Vicar at Bedale
T Melville Raven joined
the Photographic Society in 1856 - the year the Society was founded.
He later moved south to England, where he founded St Mary Magdalene Church
in Langthorne, Bedale, Yorkshire.
He became vicar of the church, and his grave is in the church
grounds.
The church has now been converted. The present owners hope to
restore some of the architectural detail as near as possible to its
original state. They are looking for photos taken by Rev T Melville
Raven to help them achieve this.
