This
same photograph was used for many years on Valentine's Post Cards,
identifiable by the traffic and the figures in the garden of Rock House,
just visible on some of these reproductions.
These
Post Cards were produced in black and white, toned and tinted, with and
without many borders over a period of about 35 years from around 1900
Cards
3 and 4 above are particularly worth comparing. The first of these
was produced around 1900; the second about 35 years later.
Both
are from the same negative, showing a horse and cart turning left, with
figures behind - but on No. 4, the remaining transport has been removed
and a couple of walkers have been added to the pavement. See below.
