Thank you to Ron Leckie, grandson of Hugh Leckie, for sending me this early direct mail promotion leaflet for Hugh Leckie & Son's coal merchant business at St Leonard's, Edinburgh. The leaflet describes Hugh Leckie & Sons as having been established for over a quarter of a century, so was presumably used in the 1940s. Ron also sent me this photographs of the family's business at St Leonard's, taken around 1965 and a photograph of Hugh Leckie as a pupil at Milton Street School, Dumbiedykes, taken around 1895. |
