Willie Center and Amy Center

Above is a carte de visite of Willie and Amy Center, from the studio of Thomas Burns, 5 West Maitland Street, Edinburgh.  This studio was at this address from 1889 to 1910.

Willie Center was the son of the Edinburgh professional photographer and bagpipe maker, John Center.  He was born in 1877 and married in Durban, South Africa, 1904.  Amy Center was Willie's wife.

This photograph may have been taken in the late 1890s before Willie left Edinburgh, or perhaps in the early 1900s before the family emigrated to Melbourne in 1908.

Most of the family were named Senter. John used the name Center.

George was Center (marriage records), but Centre (christening records).
