Flexible
celluloid film was introduced around 1888.
In
1890, George Eastman produced celluloid film, able to take 12 or 24
photos.
Five years later, he introduced his black paper backing,
so allowing his film to be loaded in daylight.
He
introduced his Kodak box Brownie camera in 1900.
It
was in the 1890s that amateur photography gained enormous popularity.
The cost of a camera with film loaded was about five guineas. The
cost of processing by Kodak was about another two guineas. [CM] |
