Crianlarich

Crianlarich, to the north of Loch Lomond, is where the West Highland Line from Glasgow separates:

-   the 'lower line' continues to the west to Oban (ferries for Mull)

-   the 'upper line' continues to the north to Fort William
and Kyle of Lochalsh  (formerly a ferry, now a bridge to Skye).

The photograph above is one of several that I took of the stations at Crianlarich, Upper Tyndrum and Bridge of Orchy on 30 December 2000 following a heavy snowfall.  The temperature was -20 degrees C.
