This 1985 view looks across Easter Road, the bridge having already been
removed, towards Leith Central station at the foot of Leith
Walk and its signal box.
Leith Central station was one of the largest stations built from
scratch in Britain in the 20th century but it had a working life of
less than fifty years.
A few years after this photograph was
taken the buildings were removed. A Scotmid supermarket and
Leith Waterworld swimming pool have now been built on the
site.
