Auchendinny Station

The line to Penicuik

Auchendinny  lies about 8 miles to the south of the centre of Edinburgh.

Auchendinny station, north of the town of Penicuik,  was on one of the lines leading to the south from Waverley station into Midlothian.  Auchendinny station was closed to passenger traffic on March 5, 1951

This appears to have been an attractive line through the countryside. Stations on the line were:

Waverley

-  Portobello

-  Niddrie

-  Millerhill

-  Eskbank

-  Bonnyrigg

-  Rosewell & Hawthornden

Rosslyn Castle

-  Auchendinny

-  Eskbridge

-  Penicuik.
