Pleasance

The shops that can be identified on this glass plate are:

-  W Howden, Boot Repairer

-  Fish & Chips,  No 153

-  A Gilchrist, Butcher, No 149.

The 1930-31 edition of the Edinburgh & Leith Post Office Directory lists A Gilchrist Butcher at 149, Pleasance.

These shops are on the west side of Pleasance, to the south of East Richmond Street.
