Back of the Photo

"Probably more interesting is the reverse which
shows that Jerome would print photos on post card stock even if the picture was
not to be used for that purpose. As you'll see from the reverse of the photo,
the picture has been printed across two post card frames, and therefore could
not have been sent through the post.
So I would guess that the photo was just a family
'snap' but that someone (Col Gale?) had ordered it to be printed on heavy stock
than would normally be used for routine developing and printing.
I have a number of 'snaps' developed and printed by
Jerome with the company stamp on the back, and these are printed on ordinary
'customer' stock."
Jerome Address
"The other
interesting point is that the reverse tells us that it was processed at Jerome's
branch at 416 Holloway Road, London N7, so this would appear to be another
definitive address for a branch of the company.
O ther Jerome
postcards merely say either
- JEROME LTD.,
London and Provinces
or
- JEROME.
Branches Everywhere."
