Thank you to Dave Pyper for providing the appealing postcard portrait below of two brothers from Leith with their whippets. The photograph was probably taken in Edinburgh or Leith, but there is no studio name and address printed on the back of the photo. Brothers and Whippets

There is a number (111) in the top corner of this photo, presumably to enable the photographer to identify the photo in case copies are required at a later date. Such numbers were often written on the back of photos in pencil. Perhaps the position and style of numbering might help to identify the photographer - but the very low number may indicate that he took very few photos.
