Phil Wilson who owns this photograph tells me:

"The bugler in this photograph is from the 49th Edinburgh Boys' Brigade Company.  The Company operated out of the St Giles/Canongate area, which would explain why George Kilgour in Cockburn Street was chosen to photograph the Company bugler, I suppose"

"This card dates from 1910 or earlier as this particular BB Company was disbanded in that year."

George Kilgour's studio was in fact listed as a photographer in the Edinburgh trade directories between 1907 and 1910.
