Murray & Campbell

Murray & Campbell were photographers in Princes Street from 1875 to 1893, from which they offered photographs.  Like several other Edinburgh photographers, they advertised:

This or any other portrait

enlarged up to  enlarged up to life size

and painted in oil or water colours.

They advertised on the back of their cabinet prints, in 1882:

Ladies photographed in Fishwife Dress

 and Gentlemen in Highland Dress:

Dresses for the above styles kept on the premises.

Questions

Who was Murray?  Was it James T Murray, Artist, who lived at 34 Saint Andrew’s Square then at 3 Queen Street in the 1880s and 1890s?

And who was Campbell?

If you can help to answer these questions, please e-mail me.

Thank you.
