Princes Street Studios

The plan below shows the professional photographers with studios in Princes Street in 1865, and the years that they worked from these addresses.

Only the central part of Princes Street is shown, running from East (top) to West (bottom). 

The dates shown are approximate, many of them having been taken from the contemporary trade directories.

There is an attractive photograph of this section of Princes Street, between The Scott Monument and the Royal Scottish Academy, taken by Horsburgh c. 1860, held in the collection of The Royal Commission for Historic & Ancient Monuments in Scotland.
