This is one of many photographs taken by Inglis from the North British Hotel looking towards the Scott Monument

Looking West

The two views are very similar except for the transport in Princes Street.

Inglis  also took photographs in the other direction  -  looking from the Scott Monument towards the North British Hotel.

Looking East
c.1912

The Inglis family was based at Rock House, Calton Hill, the studio used in the 1840s by Hill & Adamson.

I don't know which of the Inglis family took each of the photos in this series.
