Here is a view of Princes Street., looking from the Foot of the Mound towards the Scott Monument.

What is the occasion?  The photograph may have been taken on Sunday 22 October 1922, the day that electric tramcars first operated along Princes Street.

There are lots of interesting  elements in this picture.  The Edinburgh tramcar is in the centre of the picture, surrounded by a crowd, all wearing hats or caps.  There is a dog seated in the background and an old car and cycle in the background.
