Short's Observatory at Castle Hill, beside the entrance to the Castle Esplanade, is now the Camera Obscura.  The Centre, as well as giving displays of Edinburgh through the Camera Obscura housed on its roof, now has several small exhibitions and a small gift shop.

The Camera Obscura displays can be impressive, particularly on a bright day, or on a sunny day with interesting cloud patterns in the sky.
