North Queensferry

Request for Information

"It's very much a long shot but I wondered if you had any info on the Queensferry before 1900.

My family were sailors and hoteliers in North Queensferry from 1687 (when Alex McRitchie married Helen Walworth) to 1890 when the bridge opened and took away their business almost overnight.

I note the ferry crossing is described as slow, disagreeable and dangerous, so it was definitely a McRitchie job."

If you have any info that you would like to pass on to Michael, please e-mail me, then I'll pass on your message to him.
