Exhibition
"McDonald Road Church held an exhibition of
the various industries etc in the parish, in 1949.
Duncan's, Brown Brothers etc including many of
those mentioned in
Beaverbank,
participated. My late uncle, Willie Dow, was Engineer at Liddell's
Laundry for many years.
Brown Brothers exhibited models of the
catapult launcher for Walrus amphibian aircraft and of servo-assisted
ship's steering gear. The company later developed the steam catapult for
aircraft carriers."
