James Hay

Photographer James Hay, the eldest of the three in the photograph above was born in Hawick in 1846 and died at Bargrennan, Dumfries and Galloway in 1918.

James Hay and his wife were living with their daughter, Maggie Hay, a schoolteacher at Bargrennan at the time of his death.

With acknowledgement to Margaret Hay for the details above.

Question

James Hay lived at Duddingston Park around 1912-13.    [Margaret Hay]

Was this the same photographer as James Hay, a member of Edinburgh Photographic Society who won medals for his photography between 1910 and 1917 (and possibly in other years)?
