Some time between April and June 2006, there was a fire at this shop.

Even though there were very few houses in the surrounding area still occupied, a sign has been added, reading:

SHOP CLOSED DUE TO FIRE.
OPEN SOON

The shop never did open again.   The building was demolished a couple of years later.  It was one of the last buildings in Niddrie to be demolished.
