Fish Delivery Van in Jeffrey Street

Wood Brothers' business was owned by William Burnup Leslie Wood and his brother.  The business was based at Craighall Road, Trinity. The company delivered fish from Newhaven to Edinburgh.

At first the fish was delivered by horse and cart.  Later, when the horse suffered a nail though its hoof, the Wood Brothers decided to purchase a van, hoping that it would be as reliable as the horse.  The van worked well and they never returned to delivery by horse and cart.

This is their van, with its solid tyres, parked in Jeffrey Street, Edinburgh.  Having operated the van

I don't know when the van was bought or the model, but the registration number may be helpful in answering these questions.
