Wood Brothers'
business was owned by William Burnup Leslie Wood and his brother,
James. The business was based at Craighall Road, Trinity.
The company delivered fish from Newhaven to Edinburgh.
At first the fish was
delivered by horse and cart. Later, when the horse suffered
a nail though its hoof, the Wood Brothers decided to purchase a
van, hoping that it would be as reliable as the horse. The
van worked well and they never returned to delivery by horse and
cart.
The location of this
photo is not known. It may have been close to Woods' garage
in Craighall Road.
I don't know when the van was bought or the model, but the registration number
may be helpful in answering these questions. |
