Northern Lighthouse Board
had a depot on West Harbour Road, Granton for many decades, until
around 2002. The frontage included a 'lighthouse building' but
it never actually operated as a working lighthouse.
It was planned that the
building would be used to test the lights, but this was never very
successful due to the surrounding street lighting.

Board's yard and workshops lay immediately to the south of the
lighthouse building..
After the Northern
Lighthouse Board left these premises others moved in.
Now [ Nov 2004] the lighthouse is used by
Lighthouse Studios and the building to its right is used by Hi-Rope
Engineering Services. |
