Northern Lighthouse Board
had a depot on West Harbour Road, Granton for many decades, until
around 2002. The frontage included a lighthouse, and behind
were yards and workshops.
This view from the
lighthouse looks to the north towards the Firth of Forth. In
the immediate foreground is the hatch into the lighthouse dome.
Through the windows, the
view looks to the north towards the Firth of Forth. The coast
of Fife can be seen, upper left. The island of Inchkeith is in
the upper right of the picture, just visible to the right of Granton
Harbour entrance into the Firth of Forth.
The view looks across a
stone yard, and the industrial landscape of Granton Western Harbour.
The stone yard has now left Granton and the whole area is now being
redeveloped as
Edinburgh's Waterfront. |
