Edinburgh from Corstorphine Hill

This scene is described in Old & New Edinburgh as 'Edinburgh from Rest and be Thankful, Corstorphine Hill.

Edinburgh Zoo is now on the northern slopes of Corstorphine Hill.

The prominent landmarks in the centre of this scene are Calton Hill, Edinburgh Castle and Arthur's Seat.

To the left of Calton Hill the view looks across a bay in the Firth of Forth towards Berwick Law, a hill about 20 miles away in East Lothian, just visible and looking rather like a small smudge on this engraving.
