Sir Walter Scott's house in Castle Street

Castle Street runs from Princes Street to Queen Street.  Both 38 and 39 were close to the Queen Street end of Castle Street

No.38:   Edinburgh Photographic Society bought a property at 38 Castle Street, and created a library, meeting rooms and darkrooms there.  This was the society's home from 1892 until 1925.

No. 39:  Across the road was 39 Castle Street, seen in the engraving above.  This was the house where Sir Walter Scott lived there until 1826.
