The Last Occupants of Lauriston Castle

The last residents of Lauriston Castle were William Robert Reid who purchased Lauriston Castle in 1902, his wife Margaret Johnstone Reid and her bachelor brother, William Davidson Barton.

They agreed that whoever outlived the others would leave the house in trust to the nation.  Mr Barton died in 1911, Mr Reid died in 1919.  Mrs Reid died in 1926
