This photograph was taken from the tower on Corstorphine Hill.

This view looks to the east towards the centre of Edinburgh.  Many of the features described below will be more easily seen on the enlarged photo.

-  The outline of Arthur's Seat and Salisbury Crags in Holyrood Park can be seen in the centre of the picture.  Edinburgh Castle is the building on high ground in front of Arthur's Seat and Salisbury Crags.

- To the left is Calton Hill with its Nelson Monument and National Monument.  The tower of the Balmoral Hotel at the East End of Princes Street can just be seen (better on the enlarged photo) between Calton Hill and Salisbury Crags.

-  The East Lothian coast of the Firth of Forth, and the light chimneys of Cockenzie Power Station, can be seen in the background on the left.
