Torchlight Procession The start of Edinburgh's New Year Celebrations is celebrated by a Torchlight Procession from The Royal Mile via The Mound, Princes Street and Waterloo Place to the top of Calton Hill where there are floodlit monuments, fireworks and a bonfire. |

View to the North This photo was taken, looking to the north from Calton Hill towards the suburbs of North Edinburgh and Leith. The lights in the background are towns in Fife on the northern shore of the Firth of Forth. - The prominent road junction in the lower right corner of the photo is the junction of Leith Walk (running towards the lower left corner) and London Road (running towards the lower right corner). - The blue dome near the centre of the photo is on the Lothian Buses Central Bus Garage in Annandale Street. |
