Bo'ness, about 20 miles to the
west of Edinburgh, is the home of the Scottish Railway Preservation
Society.
The society operates Scottish
Rail Tours and a the Bo'ness & Kinneal Railway. This preserved steam
railway linking Bo'ness on the Firth of Forth and Birkhill with its
preserved fireclay mines, 3.5 miles to the south-west.
The railway operates a daily service in July and August and at weekends
for the remainder of the year. There are special events throughout
the year, including:
- Easter Egg Specials
- Diesel Gala
- Santa Steam Trains
- Days Out with Thomas
