The Message on the Postcard

This postcard was written in Portobello and  posted from Edinburgh to Headingley, Leeds, Yorkshire on 25 June 1916.

The message on the back of the card reads:

"Portobello
Sunday 25/6/16

This is the south view of the barracks.  It is a splendid building inside, and quite new,. It has never been used as a school yet, for when the war commenced, it was only just finished, so the War Office took it over for soldiers.

It is considered to be the finest school in Scotland!  It will hold about 1,000 men!!!

With dearest love,  Ever Yours  ???"
