West Granton

West Granton

West Granton in this view refers to the stretch of the Firth of Forth between Silverknowes and West Granton Harbour.  Most of West Granton Harbour has now been infilled and is slowly being redeveloped as housing.

Thank you to Angus Sutherland, Edinburgh for allowing me to reproduce this watercolour sketch of Inchkeith, one of several sketches by Peter Ingram Weir in his collection.  All are about postcard size.

Here is another watercolour sketch by Peter Ingram Weir:

I was particularly interested to see some of Angus Sutherland's sketches, as they were painted by Peter Ingram Weir who painted this watercolour of Granton Harbour that I bought at auction earlier in 2013, following its return from Australia..
