Dipping candles
Here is a
frame, threaded with a long length of candle wick . The frame is repeatedly dipped by the
machine into a tank of hot wax. Each time it is raised, the wax
coating on the wick is a little thicker.
When the wax coating is thick enough, the machine is switched off,
the frame removed, and the individual candles are cut from the frame.
This machine had been in use for a long time by the company. It was
invented by the present owner's father or grandfather. |
