This view shows the factory as work commenced on the site.

The houses facing onto the site are in Pilton Avenue.

Granton Gas Works and gas holders can be seen in the background.

The Photos

I find these photos interesting in several respects:

-  They show the construction of the new factory, over a period of about two years

-  They show the housing and surrounding area in the early-1960s.

-  They include some interesting views of cars and other transport in the early-1960s.
