I have been told of a photograph (36 ins x 29 ins) of some highland cattle on a hill.

On the backing is a label from J Moffat's Photographic Art Gallery, stating that they were established in 1853.

Questions

John Moffat certainly had large premises in Edinburgh, but does anybody know:

-   Over what period the business ran a Photographic Art Gallery

-   Was it at the same address as his studio?

-   What other photographs (by which photographers) were sold there?
