Arthur
Elwell Moffat (1860-1943) was a
professional artist who exhibited in Edinburgh and London.

He became a
member of Edinburgh Photographic Society in 1880-81, giving his address
as The Avenue, Greenhill Gardens.
He
and Frank Pelham Moffat were the two sons of John Moffat who joined the family
business. Arthur Elwell Moffat
produced oil portraits based on his father’s photographs
