From
1900 to 1912, Philip Earnest Low has studios at Portobello, a
popular seaside resort
in the early 1900s, about five
miles from the centre of Edinburgh. His
cabinet prints included photographs of:
- sitters in a large reproduction car in the studio, with backdrop of either
a street scene or a woodland scene.

a boat in the studio, with a backdrop showing a beach scene
