He exhibited ten portraits in the 1858 PSS Exhibition.
James Davidson (2) was a professional photographer in Edinburgh, 1885-1900. He was also a portrait painter. He advertised: [EI]
“This or any other portrait enlarged up to life size
and painted in oil or water colour.
Old and faded photographs copied and improved.”
and
“Every description of indoor work is undertaken
including groups, children, domestic pets.
Specialities are children’s portraits, enlarging and colouring.”
Davidson & Austin were photographers and photo process engravers.
